Following the police killing of over 100 Black people in the first four months of his presidency, and the American COVID-19 death toll reaching almost 600,000 people, President Joe Biden addressed a COVID-safe Congress.
Despite America’s inability to move on behalf of equity for Black people, President Biden said “America is on the move again,” in light of the nation's COVID-19 safety precautions beginning to lessen. COVID-19 has been prioritized as a crisis by the Biden Administration and supported by policies such as The American Rescue Plan, but the predatory nature of systemic racism has yet to be prioritized or intentionally rectified.
