Why write? Why create?

By Shayler Richmond

Creation at its best is driven by purpose; the purity of creativity is easily tainted; we must champion creativity to embolden living in our purpose.

Being a creative is constant alignment and realignment.

The ability to produce work is an act of freeing your mind; liberation.

“ If you are free, you need to free somebody else. If you have some power, then your job is to empower somebody else.” - Toni Morrison

Creation is inspiration.

No one else can piece together pieces the same way you do.

Creation is allowing the pieces to fall apart, together and apart.

Being creative is aligning with your process.

The process is the why; the obstacles are the why; the results are the why; the emotions and thoughts evoked are the why; to create is the why.
